I am a Barrister specialising in Employment Law since 2001.  I represent a wide range of clients from Māori organisations, large corporates, small companies and individuals.

I'm based in the Bay of Plenty and my focus is providing excellent service and practical results. I regularly represent clients at Mediation and at the Employment Relations Authority. I also help structure employment agreements, policies and processes to prevent and resolve employment disputes.

A key focus of my practice is also preventing and resolving workplace disputes.  I regularly run workplace training on "Happiness and High Performance at Work" and other related employment topics.

About

Along with specialising in employment law, I've also practiced in criminal and civil litigation, mental health law, relationship property and commercial law. However, my passion is employment law and I have a special interest is assisting Māori organisations with employment and HR advice.

I've conducted hearings in the District Court and appeared as junior counsel in the High Court and Court of Appeal. I regularly present at Employment Law conferences, seminars and Māori Law Society conferences on employment issues and have written articles for NZ Business Magazine.

I am a former Co-President of the Māori Law Society (Te Hunga Roia Māori o Aotearoa).  My Iwi are Ngāti Ranginui and Te Whānau-ā-Apanui.
